About Debbie
Debbie Kolbrener is the founder and Clinical Director of DK Counseling Services and a recognized expert in helping parents raise emotionally resilient, confident children. For more than 25 years, Debbie has specialized in working with children, teens, and families treating Generalized Anxiety, OCD, School Refusal, ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), Phobias, Behavioral Challenges, and Emotional Regulation. Her passion is empowering parents with practical, evidence-based strategies that strengthen the parent-child relationship while helping children overcome their challenges. Debbie's clients include children, adolescents, adults, and parents.
Debbie spent over 18 years as a therapist at Northside Hospital, where she developed extensive expertise across treatment specialties. She holds certifications as an Anxiety Specialist and DBT Provider, is a Certified Advanced SPACE Provider (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), trained through the Yale Child Study Center where SPACE was developed, and holds advanced certification from the International OCD Foundation in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), the gold standard treatment for OCD. Debbie has been a contributor for local news networks and has presented at anxiety conferences, schools, and parent organizations.
As Clinical Director, Debbie oversees the clinical excellence of DK Counseling Services. She is deeply committed to ensuring that her clients receive compassionate, individualized, and research-supported care. Through her leadership, Debbie has built a practice known for its clinical expertise. She currently treats children, adolescents, and adults, and works with parents to feel confident and equipped as they navigate the challenges of raising children in today's world.
